HÀ NỘI — General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Tô Lâm talked over the phone with President-elect of the US Donald Trump on the evening of November 11.

The Parader congratulated Trump on his election as the 47th President of the US while highly valuing the latter’s contributions to the development of Việt Nam - US relations.

The two sides discussed the positive results of the Việt Nam - US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in recent times.

Lâm stated that Việt Nam is ready to promote the stable and long-term development of the bilateral ties for the sake of the two peoples, as well as for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development in the region and the world.

The Party chief and the President-elect also exchanged views on major orientations for fostering the bilateral economic, trade and investment links in the areas matching their strengths and demands.

Trump expressed his satisfaction with the positive development in the bilateral relations, and affirmed the importance he attaches to the relationship with Việt Nam, particularly economic cooperation. He highlighted specific areas of economic and trade collaboration that the US seeks to advance.

The President-elect expressed his confidence that the Việt Nam - US friendship will continue to grow. He also shared his good impressions of the Vietnamese people, recalling his previous two visits to the Southeast Asian nation.

Trump also appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese community in the US.

On this occasion, Lâm invited Trump to visit Việt Nam again. The President-elect accepted the invitation with pleasure, and in turn invited the Party chief to visit the US at an appropriate time. — VNA/VNS

Tháng 8/2020, TikTok đàm phán bán hoạt động tại Mỹ, sau khi chính quyền cựu Tổng thống Donald Trump dọa cấm cửa ứng dụng, nếu công ty mẹ ByteDance không tìm được người mua tại đây. Có lúc, Microsoft nổi lên như một ứng viên tiềm năng song một tháng sau, Oracle lại được lựa chọn để cung cấp máy chủ đám mây cho ứng dụng.

Tại hội thảo Code Conference diễn ra hôm 27/9 tại California, ông Satya Nadella nhấn mạnh: “Đầu tiên, các bạn phải nhớ rằng TikTok đến tìm chúng tôi, không phải ngược lại. TikTok bị mắc kẹt giữa rất nhiều vấn đề của hai quốc gia và họ muốn hợp tác”.

TikTok ban đầu muốn một nhà cung ứng đám mây, kiêm dịch vụ bảo mật. “Tôi thấy khá hấp dẫn. Rõ ràng, đó là một tài sản tuyệt vời”.

Thực tế, TikTok chưa bao giờ bán hoạt động tại Mỹ. Vào tháng 6, Tổng thống Mỹ Joe Biden ký sắc lệnh hành pháp, đảo ngược sắc lệnh cấm TikTok của người tiền nhiệm. Theo ông Nadella, cuối cùng, chính phủ Mỹ dường như mất đi hứng thú trong thúc đẩy giao dịch.

CEO Microsoft cho biết, công ty phù hợp để mua hoặc hợp tác với TikTok. Microsoft có đám mây, bảo mật và các kỹ sư có năng lực. Ngoài ra, khả năng điều tiết nội dung và giữ an toàn cho trẻ em trên mạng xã hội cũng là một điểm TikTok thấy thu hút ở Microsoft.

“Bạn tốt hơn nên biết một chút về điều hành mạng xã hội, thứ chúng tôi biết được qua Xbox Live hay LinkedIn”.

Ông từ chối bình luận khi được hỏi có còn muốn mua TikTok không, ám chỉ ông “hạnh phúc với những gì đang có”. Dù vậy, ông thừa nhận thương vụ cũng hấp dẫn với cả Microsoft vì thiết kế kỹ thuật của TikTok. “Nó là một sản phẩm thú vị”, ông nói.
